The Importance of Technorati (Tagnorati)
Published by karl May 10th, 2006 in microbrands, micromarketing, co-creationAlthough most people think Technorati is a blog search engine, it isn’t… it is a “tag” search engine and the more things that get “tagged” the more of it will get sucked up by technorati. I just noticed that Technorati has started sucking up YouTube content, take a look at this screenshot:

With youtube videos, blog content, and images from flickr all getting pulled together, technorati is able to provide a very “multimedia” view of topics or ideas. For anyone who’s trying to navigate the blogosphere how are you tagging your images, video, and text to get found by the “technorati”?
I started serving all my images on flickr instead of keeping them on my server a while ago, not through any strategic imperative except to save money. But a side effect was that when I went to look at tags on technorati i’d notice my flickr images were showing up at the top of the page, above my blog posts, and I was actually getting traffic from flickr.
I hope they start pulling in tags from consumating soon, maybe then I’ll get a date
